It’s that time of year again, when the scans start pouring in, and we spend the beautiful summer days scanlating porn in our basement lairs. For those poor souls who don’t know what Comic Market is, Look It Up! The event ended on the 12th, and the first scans showed up within hours.
Like we do every time, we’re taking a break from our regular projects to do any comiket scans we like as fast as we possibly can. This time we’re trying something new: all our C82 work will be done in public, to reduce sniping and show people how we work. If you want to see what LWB is working on, check out our public trello board Here

To all the other groups out there doing a C82 rush: Good Luck, and Have Fun! Come by our forums or our IRC channel (or use webchat) if you want to coordinate or chat with us.

Would you like to know more?

Comiket scans arrive in several waves. First the people who attended the event scan their copies and post them on the japanese filesharing networks (or give them to lucky scanlation groups). We’ve already finished some of these, hours after they came out.
Second come the scans from people who had doujinshi bought at the event and delivered to them. The fastest shipping will get those here in a few weeks, and the slowest in a month or more. Our resident scanners will be doing their usual high quality work on these books, and we might even re-edit some of our favourites with their improved scans.
Finally, scans come trickling in from copies bought after the event, from store re-releases or second hand sales. Dedicated fans are still scanning things from C62 (10 years ago!), so this “wave” never really ends.

You can find more information about what came out at at these sites:

We encourage anyone who can to buy doujinshi they like, even if they’re already scanned. Almost no artists make a profit from their work, but we can at least help them recover their costs! If people are interested, we can make a post about cheap ways to order manga from Japan, or you can ask our scanners on IRC.
