Initially, I was planning to rage about NTR-rage, but then I realised that it’ll only cause pointless internet-fights. Instead I’ll rant about author and content.
I picked this trilogy up to do something with author-content contrast. Something like that Miyabi Tsuzuru vanilla earlier. I was pleasantly surprised. ET is a genius! His vanilla is enough to give regular vanilla artist a run for their money. The plot itself is simple, but the setting, pacing, character design is amazing! What probably stands out most is the panel placement. That was just perfect, imo. I was like “EEETEE! Y U NO DRAW MOAR BANIRA?” the whole time and then… it hit me. ET does not need to draw vanilla. He is a capable man. Any content he does will be awesome! Rape? Good! Cheating? Good! Tentacles? AllMyMunnies! Dreader NTR? Yesss!
The point being if the artist is capable of pulling a different genre skillfully, then fans, by all means, should support him/ her. Not everyone can do this, mind you (coughNekomataFailiM@SVanillaRapecough). And the fact that someone can create different genre stuff IS their talent itself.
So my message to (mostly vanillafag) fans is that, the next time your favourite artist does something outside his usual box, read it, give it a chance and then judge. Hisasi fans, I’m looking at you – the last couple releases were a little less sugary, but fuck they were good! It’s all acquired taste (like alcohol), I understand, but don’t call it bad without even taking the first sip.

Personally I enjoy any genre, since vanilla to NTR, I like when an author tries something different.
I’ve read lots of people complaining about Hisasi latest works, but Sugisaranu Hito is probably my favorite work from him, I hope he continues doing creepy stuff.

I just love sitting back and making the ‘U MAD?’ face. The vanillafags rage just so hilariously and uselessly.
My wife recently asked why I was reading a manga that someone translated recently. I sat there, thought about it for a while and replied thus:
It’s not that I don’t like vanilla works. I do. But I enjoy reading these as fantasy and occasionally it’s fun to go into other genres. NTR is not exactly my favorite genre, but if I hadn’t gotten over the vanilla hump, I would have never read (or come to love) works like Pandra and artists like Fatal Pulse.
In short, don’t be mad when it’s a rape/forced/ntr story and just enjoy it for what it is. If you just ignore the text, it’s all vanilla….mostly.

For me…well I don’t like ntr, rape, loli, sca, goldenshowers, guro, tentacles (even though in the old days some tentacles were drawn damn pretty) and so on… I am one of those who like vanilla stories…that doesn’t mean that vanilla is the only thing out there. (No, the rest aren’t the ones I don’t like) There’s lot of other kinds of genre that can be taken up and done, yes there are some great ones too. Plus NTR…well I don’t mind if we get the case of people getting mixed feelings in the story but an ending of NTR breakdown…Is that what we want, really? Hope not D:

I always loved ET works, for his draw style(i like busty girls a lot), and his plots; despite of is tentacle, NTR or whatever. Every work its pretty good, some better than others, but it really worth to read(and fap if you’re into that).

I guess my message got a bit botched.
The core of the message was give authors a chance when they do something out of their usual genre. And if it’s good, you shouldn’t complain.
I mean, if ET starts doing vanilla (which he can, evidently, excel at) NTR/ Tentacle fans shouldn’t start rioting saying “Stick to drawing more PANDRA you stupid mangaka!” Similarly, if NaPaTa does NTR (and a good one at that) there should not be any complaints about wasted talents either.
But yeah, I’m yet to see NTR/ more deviant fans complaining as much as Vanilla fans/ Moralfags (as Afro aptly said above). So I guess it’s no surprise that this topic became a NTR love/ hate topic.
I picked this up mainly to drive home some points and get some reactions to enjoy.

The problem to me is that while vanilla is on the safe side of things (it’s called that way for a reason), -almost- a surefire hit, it’s perfectly understandable why certain people wouldn’t like netorare and yet it’s treated like it’s a very safe genre accessible by everyone, which is not the case. Also, there’s the fact that the two genres really do not mix well together, like water and oil, there’s nothing worse than a story going from happy to netorare back to happy, it might work for ntr fans but it ruins the fun for everyone else, I once made the bad comparison of ‘pissing in a bucket of water and telling people to drink because it’s more or less still water’ and it still works. While a netorare lover doesn’t mind a story going in places as long as he gets what he wants, I’m not sure the same works both ways. For example, I’m not sure how many people were pleased by the happy make-up sisterxbrother sex in Distance’s My Sister after everything that happened before, idem for “When you let go of my hand”.
That aside, some dedicated netorare artists have the bad habit of ruining a happy ending with a post-work netorare appendix (I can make at least four examples but there’s plenty more: Let’s Play by Sanagi Torajirou, Satomi x Satona by Miito Shido, Like a Bitch by Carn and Sayuki no Sato by Sanbun Kyoden, the ‘good’ ending scenario, there’s nothing worse than leaving with a supposed good ending only to later find out it’s a terrible one) so in the end you just prefer to stay away from them for good.

and… this is Team VANILLA’s page. definitely not the place to look for ntr stuff. any complaints for no ntr is misplaced imo.
also, if anyone read the previous 2 chapters, it’s very clear that it were never going to turn to ntr route, with all that comedic panels and stuff.

Don’t remind me of that travesty. I personally find terribly-written NTR worse the terribly-written vanilla. So seeing some good artists jump on the NTR bandwagon and fail miserably the past year or so has been painful.

I 2nd that, there’s nothing that gets me off as much as ntr these days but there’s nothing that kills my wood as much as BAD ntr. other then that I completely agree about authors who can do multi-genres thats why I love me some Cuvie. she’s found the right balance between ntr and vanilla AND her art is gorgeous. Toko-ya is another one worth mentioning, their FMA doujins and their “Saint” series are always insta-fav’d on e-hentai.

The author draw whatever the fuck they want, none else can control that. The thing here is that this story was right before he released the REC series, which started vanilla like this. The catch here is that he must’ve wonderfully trolled all the vanilla fags back in 2010 after this story. I would’ve done something like that too, and I dislike NTR. But I guess that’s the power of being able to create.

The same thing can be spinned both ways. Ntr in no way is original, it’s the same old fetishes with the added factor that someone is getting his loved one screwed away. If anything, it’s the fact that some people push the thought that this is so radical and exciting and if you don’t like it you are in the wrong that is starting to get annoying as much as preaching vanilla fans. Also this is the wrong place to criticize as Erect Sawaru is mostly a rape-tentacles-ntr guy, there are two books worth of Pandra for people not in this story and another rape series is releasing in Comic Tenma as of lately.

Not all “vanillafags” raged about Hisasi recent non-vanilla stuff. I just didn’t read it. Hell, I’m not going to waste time complaining about Hisasi drawing stuff that isn’t vanilla when there is a much bigger waste of time out there.

I agree with the comments about an author doing great works outside their normal genre, but darker themes just aren’t for me even if they are executed by a talented author. It’s the same with movies. I could think someone is a wonderful and skilled actor, but I may not want to see every movie they star in even if it is considered amazing. I think it’s good for artists to try whatever they want, but I don’t have to feel inclined to read it just because I like their other works.
P.S. I did love the recent Hisasi stuff even as a vanilla lover.

Chronologically speaking after this series ended ‘REC’ started on Comic Tenma. First chapter was alright but you could feel something was wrong. In the second chapter one of the nastiest sorts of ntr you can imagine (rape, drugs, mind break, denial, emo, nonsense) started and people went banana.
Since this series has been translated more or less a year after ‘REC’ some people didn’t bother check that this is actually older, all they could think about was ‘OMG IT’S GONNA BE LEIK REC RUN TO THE HILLS’. I assume the translators tried to keep spoilers as low as possible to add to the suspense, or maybe I’m just overthinking.
